About Rivka Adelman,
RN, MSN, ANP-BC, ACNP-BC
Rivka (Ruth) Adelman is an experienced Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes Jewish Hospital in 2004 and Saint Louis University School of Nursing in 2009, both in Saint Louis, Missouri. She worked as a staff nurse in a cardiology step down unit for 6 years, caring for patients with heart attacks, atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, congestive heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and patients waiting for a heart transplant or LVAD. She also became an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor and taught classes for the hospital system for several years.

When Rivka became an Adult Nurse Practitioner she started working in the Emergency Department per diem while she continued working as an RN and going to post-graduate school.
​
When she became an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Rivka moved to New York City and along with 3 other NPs opened an Attending Cardiology Service at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in Manhattan mostly for patients with chest pain, CHF, and pre/post heart catheterization.

Rivka got married, had children, and moved to Rockland County where she worked as a hospitalist at Montefiore Nyack Hospital for 2 years, and now is currently working in telemedicine, occupational and employee health at Holy Name Medical Center.
Rivka was inspired to start Adelman Health, NP in Adult and Acute Care in June, 2019 by an elderly neighbor who wanted to go home after many months in a nursing home but had a hard time managing his own healthcare and leaving the house for doctor’s appointments and blood draws.

Rivka's broad experience working in both the inpatient as well as the outpatient setting has allowed her to be able to provide hospital level care in the comfort of the home, when it is safe to do so.
​
Rivka has established relationships with specialists locally and those in large medical centers such as Columbia, Mount Sinai, and Lenox Hill.
​
Rivka enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children, reading, baking, painting, and expanding her medical knowledge.
​
Rivka prides herself on caring for every patient as if they were her own family member.
